Voting Meetings
are held on the first
Monday of the month (unless otherwise noted) and begin at 7:30 PM in the Carlynton Junior-Senior High School Library. 

Finance Committee and Voting Meetings occur on the third Monday of the month (unless otherwise noted). The Finance Committee Meeting is held prior to the voting meeting, beginning at 7:00 pm. The voting meeting begins at 7:30 with administrative reports, discussions and voting on agenda items. Presentations, relevant to items on the agenda, will take place on an occasional basis. 

Finance Committee discussion will include:
September 2017 - State of the budget and updates, review of real estate and delinquent real estate tax collections and fund balance projection
October 2017 - Auditor report, confirmation of final ending budget number and fund balance for 2016-2017, review of athletic budget and supplemental positions
November 2017 - Review of current personnel costs, noting jump steps; projection of need to raise the index and apply for exceptions; examination of line items from discretionary spending to determine if current rates are exceeding or falling short of budgeted amount; curricular needs and supplies; and anticipated capital projects for 2018-2019
December 2017 - Reorganization of the board; No Finance Committee Meeting
January 2018 - Decision to apply for exceptions and to raise the index; anticipated retirees, staffing needs; steps to balance budget without touching fund balance
February 2018 - Additional personnel discussion addressing extracurriculars; whether to fill or not to fill for 2018-2019 school year
March 2018 - Technology and capital projects with projected budget for 2018-2019
April 2018 - Creation of budget summary sheet for 2018-2019
May 2018 - Proposed Preliminary Budget
June 2018 - Approval of Final Budget
July 2018 - No Finance Committee Meeting

All meetings, except for the executive sessions, are open to the public. At each bi-monthly meeting, members of the community are welcome to address the Board with a question or concern. Individuals are usually asked to express their concerns or ask general questions at the beginning of the meetings on an agenda item, with time set aside at the conclusion of the meetings for other issues.
